Hello everyone, it's been awhile since I've posted. I have a cute little Zenith - Model K092X / chassis #9JB1X - that I'd like to tinker with. The vertical hold is kaput and I'm interested in advancing my troubleshooting knowledge anyway. I see that the schematic for my TV is available for a fair charge on the SAMS site, but I'm reaaally hesitant to use my Debit/Visa on the internet like that and I no longer use any regular "credit" cards that would offer more protection. I can't believe there isn't a PayPal option on there! I did try the search function here on VK to look for prior posts on this topic, but I'm probably not wording things right or something.

Does anyone have any idea if the SAMS site is ok for using my debit card info on, or possibly have in their possession a schematic for this little TV set? I really appreciate any help, tips or ideas, thank you very much for reading!

A warning about Sams. For the $22 you will get a crappy
PDF or Xerox. Sometimes unreadable & you have to reorder.
Try to find the original printing, its very high quality.
If you dont find a free bee here contact me. I probably have
it & can sell it.

It looks like the sync pulse comes out of pin number 15 of IC chip IC401. If the horizontal is working, I would go to cap C601. The other caps on that chip can also affect sync, if that is the hold problem you are having.

Thank you, that makes total sense.

Zeno, is your screen name from an episode of Lost in Space?

No it came from the old TV shop. We were a Zenith / Admiral dealer. One day an old Italian couple came in for a new set. They had real thick accents.
Asked the usual questions & when brand came up he said " nothing but a Zeno !!" IIRC they bought a console with a mediteranian
cabinet.
