Hello. I just joined this website because I need help. I was recommended by someone to join videokarma,so here I am. I hope I am posting this in the right forum.
I need to know as much as possible about this TV. Including model name, maybe model number if possible,etc...

I'm going to give as many details as possible from what I know so far. Its a TV that my parents bought around 1986. They bought it in a store in Texas. It looks like it got wood grain on the top and sides. On the 3rd picture attached I think the words on the bottom left corner of the front TV says "superset" and below that it says "digital remote tuning".
There used to be button covers for the buttons in the front panel below but they fell off. The 4 buttons in the middle control the volume and channel changing. The button on the far right is the power button.
Also on the right of the power button I think it says SQ26. I'm no sure what that means but I guess it could be 26 inches? I somehow thought this TV was about 30 inches.

If you dont still have the set about all you can do is watch E-bay for
brochures from 1985, 6, & 7. Often the seller takes a pix of the whole
book.
If you still have the set THere will at least be a chassis number inside
and usually the model number.

Can't resist, 27", NC4 chassis, Magnavox/Philips, made in Greeneville TN, engineering was in Knoxville TN. This chassis was going out of production when I started working there in engineering, in 86.

This is a North American Philips chassis, not a SuperSet (which were GTE era).

Came in for the C-4. Cant blame you for the C-3 then. Despised them.

But cant credit you with the C-1, best Maggy ever IMHO.

to KentTeffeteller. Really? oh well thats interesting. I remembering looking at the front panel of the TV and it had the superset label on it, so I naturally assume it was a superset.

Super sets were the top of the line Sylvania sets. IIRC
the name came & went a few times. Before super sets the TOTL
Sylvanias were called GT-Matics back in the 70's.

The "Superset" branding started to be used on high end Sylvania sets, starting in about '78, while GTE still owned the brand. In '81, GTE sold the rights to the Sylvania and Philco brands to NAP, who had already acquired Magnavox back around 1974. NAP still continued to use the Superset branding on the higher end Sylvania sets until around 1990, or so.

Super sets were the top of the line Sylvania sets. IIRC
the name came & went a few times. Before super sets the TOTL

I got from my neighbor a few years ago a 1974 Sylvania GT-Matic 25" Console Color TV that was basically just used as furniture by them (low hours set) and it still works and looks like new.

The only thing that's missing is the picture control door "lockout", which when I asked my neighbors about it they said that they weren't aware that the TV had a "lockout" for the picture control door.

I'm currently trying to locate a lockset that would work on this TV's picture control door, but I'm not sure what to look for because I've never seen a TV with a "lockout" on the picture control door before until I saw this TV.

Pretty sure the locks were all the same from 13" -25". The key itself all the same.

Yeah, but what did the locking mechanism itself look like? That's the part that's missing on mine, without it the door just hangs open which makes it look kind of crappy (its also where the speaker is on the TV so the audio sounds kind of funky with the control door hanging open.)

A true SuperSet was one built on a GTE era Sylvania chassis. Yes, North American Philips kept the SuperSet name up to 1990 on higher end NAP built Sylvania sets. A note with the original SuperSets, they drove their CRT very hard to get that picture, which also meant CRT life was much shorter.
