OK, here's what I know:
It was an RCA. We think it was purchased in the early 70's. 19 inch.
You'd better believe it was tube. Thing ran HOT, on that oh-so 70's shag rug.
It lasted till '86 or so. But it lost the color in the early 80's (it'd flicker in/out, and eventually was mostly out...)
A few times, the picture would fade out for a while (still had sound), then fade in again.
Never recalled any HV misadventures inside.
Yes, it was 'portable', and yes, it was a genuine simulated woodgrain finish on the plastic cabinet.
It was remote control! My brother was the 'remote' until I was able to crawl and understand my parents, then I was the 'remote'...
I'm guessing you guys can pick the model/chassis out pretty quick. Bonus points for a schematic...
