I have an early model Motorola VT-71, the one that has channel 1 and no fine tuning, and I'm finishing up the alignment of it. This is the first time I've aligned a TV so I'm learning as I'm going. The sound and IF alignment went well and the waveform for the latter look pretty good. But I have a couple of questions on the next steps so I'm looking for advice.

1. The manuals at earlytelevision.org (https://www.earlytelevision.org/tv_schematic_diagrams_motorola.html) (Riders, Sams, Motorola) say that the primary and secondary of the converter transformer should be adjusted simultaneously. Is that really true or can I just adjust them separately until the waveform and marker positions are correct?

2. I'll next need to adjust the oscillator, RF, and antenna coils to set-up the stations. The manuals at earlytelevision.org have different instructions for aligning these coils for the VT-71. Are the procedures interchangeable? Some of them involve disconnecting components and altering circuits and I'm looking for the simplest procedure that will do the job.

Many thanks.
