There is a person on eBay trying to sell an RCA 14-S-7070 for $1,850. Yes, the comma is in the right place.

It has a huge dent on the top like it has been dropped. No leather handle. One antenna rod damaged. RCA emblem on the top badly bent. Crack along the front bezel.

No comment as to its operation.

I notice that both collectors and non-collectors reference eBay for values nowadays. How many times have you heard "these go for ___ on ebay". My question always is "is that what they sell for or is that what the seller is asking?". There's a big difference. A rule of thumb for valuing antiques was always to ignore auction sales, but people seem to have forgotten that.
This seller with that RCA TV is deranged. Without knowing if the CRT is okay, it's a $35 swap-meet set.

I've got one of those in real nice shape (other than the leather handle). Take a zero off and it's yours!!!!

No way. Do you know how much trouble a Range Rover is to work on?

“If you can get that much for it in ebay, why aren’t you listing it there?”
