Saw this on eBay this morning. Is someone parting out a Westinghouse H840CK15 rather than restoring it?

Apparently ... the cabinet and a few other small things are there.

The same guy has some interesting almost whole 7 and 10 inch sets
and CRTs. A couple of sets look very very clean (minus, of course, a
couple of hard to get parts each, like a bezel).

Looks like a potential bonanza for the overpriced shipping companies!

It sure looks that way... Given the cabinet condition (there was a link to the cabinet in the listing) if the CRT is shot then parting it out is easier and potentially more financially rewarding than a restoration....Not necessarily the best move, or one I would encourage, but I can see how someone might decide to do this.

When Craters and Freighters delivers my H840CK15 I may have to make it's resto a priority so I can take advantage of this parts source.
Heck Even if my Westinghouse is good I may still buy the sweep transformers/main chassis if he lists them so I can fix a Tel-instrument monitor that's missing those parts (though the flyback from a CT100 would be more correct for that).

I looked at the other items he had for sale. It looks like this TV was not stored in a good climate. There is a lot of surface rust on the components.

I wonder if we will see a 15GP22 for sale in a few days. Or a main chassis.
