Hi all, not sure where to put this question, so i guessed rectangular screen tube sets. I've seen a few of those 60's -80's roll around carts in thrift stores lately. Are these worth picking up? Most i've seen are in the single digit prices.

I'd call that a personal decision. Do you like the ones you've seen? Do you want one?

I wouldn't call it a necessary accessory, but if you like the style then by all means go for it.

I have 2, one I found that matches my 1976 19" RCA XL100 and another that i use as a base for my 2003 JVC DLA-M15 video projector. The one i saw today at GW has a 70's aluminum frame with real wood parts. I don't need it but wanted to save it if someone has a need for one.

If it fits a set you have or plan to have why not....my Portacolor has a stand that fits it perfectly because I happened to find the stand before I got the set. (The stand was almost free since it had a year old tag and was burried in junk at the end of an isle...when I pointed out it had been there for over a year they offered me a steep discount)

You can build them easily if you want and they would all match.

At one point I brought home about a half dozen NOS stands from the attic of an old TV shop. I tried to find a home for them on here but there were no takers. I didn't have the heart to toss them in the trash so I dropped them off at the back door of the local used furniture store one night :) I'm pretty sure they threw them away :(
