Thanks for sharing. I have never seen this film. That Ed Sullivan color telecast was in Aug. 1954. The Best of Broadway "The Royal Family" color telecast was Sep. 15, 1954. It was seen live at 10pm in the east and at 7pm live & in color here in Los Angeles. Here is the TV Guide listing:

Wayne, I think those CBS tech's worries w/their RCA TM-10's are long over. I imagine the few color set owners had the real problem of receiving viewable color images on their home receivers back then. Here's the CBS TV City, in Hollywood, color control room in 1954-early '55.

They are running them underscanned making for quite small pictures, they really needed 21" models there.

The RCA TM-10 w/the 15GP22 tube was the most widely available studio color monitor available. Prior to that the CT-100 color home receiver was also used in many control rooms of that era. Later RCA 21" 21CT55 home color receivers were used until RCA introduced the TM-21 a 21" color studio monitor, the standard for many years.

Your Burbank studio shot is the clearest I’ve seem. Was guessing the monitor on the right was showing a golf tournament. Now I can see it’s a women in a grass field. As to the monitor on the left? Disneyland?

This is a cover photo from the Sept. 1955 issue of Radio & Television News magazine. I believe the 21CT55 on the left is showing an image from one of NBC's 1955 "color spectaculars".
