I should say that this TV was a table top and not a console.

The name on the pencil box looks to short to be Muntz, looks like RCA to me.

The name does look shorter but it's not RCA and the plate does look exactly like it otherwise. Perhaps a set Muntz built for someone else? Not too many names shorter than Muntz though.

Very likely close, but knob/crt width ratio says 21" to me... note that the Arvin next to it (8171) in the brochure seems to have knobs that better match your set.

I found it! It's in Louisville Ky. I'm dealing with the buyer as to payment and when I can pick it up. Almost 3 years now looking. Guys never give up!

IDK. All I know is what the picture shows. I'll try and find out some more details.

The knobs aren't with the TV. She will look for them and also provide a picture of the back and maybe get a model number for me. Fingers crossed.

Even going back to the late 40's some makes mounted the CRT to the cabinet rather than the chassis (even though we tend to think of that as being a 60's and later practice)...

It would be a shame to just have a shell, but one (if sufficiently desperate) could probably take a RCA or Zenith chassis of the era adjust front control loactions and rig it drive the CRT and fit the cabinet to be convincing from the front.

Here's a picture of an Arvin TV on eBay. Sure enough the picture tube is separate from the chassis. It's not looking too good for the home team right now.

The seller, if they're unaware, could have looked right at it and never put the two together. I can't imagine how they would have been separated by much distance, unless there was a fish tank experiment in the making.

Yup. We'll find out. I'm thinking that this TV is at her grandparents house, which she is disposing of all the stuff. I'll know more when I get a picture of the back.

Yeah. I'm going over there on Sunday morning. Here grandpa also messed with radios and other TV's. I'm hoping I can find it in all the mess from cleaning out the estate. At least it is a start.

Well I got the cabinet but could not find/locate the chassis. I'm starting a new thread on the restoration. I'll post a link.

BTW, the Arvin chassis number I really need is an TE-319 or TE-300. Anybody have anything close?
