I never would have guessed that knob-job VCRs were made so recently, or that "skyscraper" consoles were still being made. I like that model VGM2079 component-ready lowboy. I never saw a console like that before.

I'd like to find one of those "dimensia" TV, they seemed like very good performer and had lot of inputs/outputs.

I COULD be wrong, but IIRC, color cameras were still pretty expensive in '83. Think it was 1984-85 B4 I got one. But that stuff was CHANGING so fast then, the stuff you bought today was "Old Hat" before you got it home good... I remember, they SURE put New Stuff out quicker than I could PAY for all of it..

That hasn't change much if you think of it. You buy a cell phone or a TV today, and its obsolete by next year standard...

When was the last time TV technology changed that fast...was there any other time?

Some one post it on the group about C.E.D.'s (Capacitance Electronic Discs) from facebook and I thought to share it to you too.
I love those tv sets too. They have a lot of inputs, a nice design (not oridinary plastic) and looked as top stuff for back then.

The knob-tuned top-loading VCR is a Matsushita rebadge. No trick play, and the remote is a wired pause switch with no other functions. At one time or another I had the Quasar and Panasonic cousins of that VCR.

My first VCR, in 1984, was a rebadged (as GE) Panasonic. It had a wired remote with all functions except, IIRC, recording. I didn't miss it after it quit six years later, as that cord was a real problem to deal with, not to mention a safety hazard. The VCRs I've had since, including my present Panasonic unit, all had IR remotes that controlled almost every function the machines supported, and of course there was no unsightly cable. Give me a VCR with an IR remote over a wired one any day.

Ditto to Dude111's comment: Very nice,thank you Telecolor 3007. I really love seeing these old brochures. I have an RCA Colortrak 2000 - with a SCART connector and all that was like the Dimensia, only it's a black and woodgrain, June 1988 Thompson Electronics model. I love seeing the living room there in the brochure, with the state of the art for 1983 electronics. :-)

No, SCART is mainly a European connection standard, it originated in France.
