My wife and I were on an antique shopping trip today, and saw an RCA 8TS30 for sale in an antique store for $99. The cabinet has a little minor damage to the arch over the CRT and the faceplate, as though something had been dropped on it. I tried to offer them less, but they wouldn't budge on the price. I'd never pay that much without checking the CRT first, anyhow. A good deal or not?

Those are my favorite of the post war RCA sets. If you can verify the CRT is good $100 seems reasonable.

If the CRT checks good and it's complete with it's back, it's worth it. These are nice looking sets, but, along with the 630TS, have not increased in collector interest or value. It's likely due to the large size and substantial weight!
