Does anyone live in the DC area and work on VCRs? Generally I can make my own repairs... Although they are basic for belts gears and cleaning.. But I have 3 right now that I can't seem to figure out. and I would really like to get at least two of the three working well.

One is a Betamax VCR and the other
two are top loading VHS VCRs. The betamax allows the tape to
go in but will not play and I cannot seem to get to the
motor under the cassette rack. One of the other two VHS VCRs
allows the tape to load but the feed reel will not turn. I
know it's missing at least one belt... But it may just
be the counter. The third VCR .. the video head seemed to be
dirty and while cleaning it I noticed one of the wires on
top had come loose. While trying to tighten everything back
down the others came loose as well. I did my best to solder them all back together. But I still only get noise on the screen and very little volume now. I can supply model numbers if need be but I really need somebody that is willing to work with me on this and not charge me an arm and a leg to get them running

Remove cabinet bottom or entire tape transport mech to get at motors under deck.

If you touched screws on the head drum rotor, then you likely upset mechanical alignment in a way that few can fix....I'd call that deck a gonner.
