KMTV, Omaha, Nebraska was one of the color pioneers, as you can see at:

The attached brochure can be dated to 1956 by the program premiers that are listed.

That's cool! I live in Omaha, and didn't know that.
On another note, KMTV and WOWT switched network affiliates in the 80's ( CBS and NBC) in the 80's and it STILL confuses me. (haha)

Here's an ad from WOW-TV proclaiming their 1st NBC color broadcast 12-20-53. Very early and probably viewed in color only by WOW's prototype color receivers. This just days after the FCC gave the go ahead for commercial NTSC compatible color broadcasts.
