Does anyone watch sports on a 20'' tv or smaller and this is their main tv ? If so how far back do you sit? Do you keep the aspect ratio 4x3 or 16x9and a really small picture ? Thanks for any feedback.

My main and only TV was a 13" Emerson for many years. You get used to it...like they did in the early days of television.

Luckily for most of us, Sports shows, News shows, and even a lot of weekly shows are
made so that all necessary information fits into a 4:3 image..... I have seen studio
monitors that still have the 4:3 frame imposed on the surface of a 16:9 screen....

It does look though, that the writing for all the stats and pitch speed inning, etc does seem
to be getting smaller all the time..... 3/4" on a 19" set, but maybe 3" on a 60" set, I guess
for those people it begins to look too big......

Too bad they don't send size information along with the new digital tv picture, and
let the tv decode what size items should be. Website design has began to go that way
with the increasingly crazy shifting away from approx. 1700px width desktop viewers
to itty bitty 340px telephones, all the way up to 60" wall mounted internet ready
tv's.... It's crazy.... It seems to be getting more fragmented every day....

I imagine the px width of a 60" HD internet tv to be what 5,000px...??
So what a regular static website takes up 1/4 of the screen....?
I have not really looked into it at all....

I assume this will eventually be addressed....

I don't watch most sports on my small sets, but do often watch some parts
on my dining table small screen (but not small cabinet!) CT-100. Its best seen
from about two or 2 1/2 feet.

Almost all action fits on the screen even if seen via OTA TV, but nowhere
near all the info parts. Watching over cable my cable box refuses to allow
pillarboxing to NTSC so I get letterbox, and pretty much everything
is visible.

Interlace line pairing is not a problem from OTA but is hideously
obvious over the cable box.

Watching sports on my 10" and smaller B&W sets is rather painful:
the lack of color is a real big problem. On the other hand, its no
problem on my 3" RCA ATSC roughly 320x240 (16x9) pixel battery portable,
which of course is color.

I wouldnt think it would .. In fact THE SMALLER THE PICTURE,the better quality of it could be had .... (Like making a small picture BIGGER can make it blurry)

I don't watch sports at all, but my main watcher is a 1987 19" Electrohome, same model set that was in our household during my formative years. As I recall, most people I knew back then had 19" sets. I can't change aspect ratios with my analog cable service and I don't want to anyway. I have no desire to watch anything bigger than a 25" console.

I can't stand B&W regardless of screen size.

My main tv is a G.E combo tv/vhs 19' and yes I watch the hockey game on it.. my wife has the Toshiba 32'.. I can watch the game with my wife.. lol.. she talks too much when she watches the game. Don't worry peeps i love my wife.. ;) :P

I have exactly 0 interest in watching sports, but a few days ago I did watch a few hours of the the SyFy channel new years Twilight Zone marathon on a 9" monochrome Admiral TV. Arms length is about the edge of optimum viewing distance for a set that small IMHO.
