I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place but I wonder if there is any interest/value in this setup? I have a DVC-2400 camera with a DV-2400 recorder and power supply. Its in generally rough shape. What I DO know is that it does not have the original lens, missing microphone, the recorder will engage but the tape motor does not run, and the power supply goes to a different model I believe. I have several pictures attached and can answer any questions to the best of my knowledge. I also have the original owner's manuals as well as service manuals for the camera and recorder. Is this worth anything?

That is a EIAJ format video tape rig. It is not a broadcast grade format, but rather an early 'prosumer' format. The market, when it was new, was mostly wealthy people interested in home video/techies, and institutions that were teaching film, electronic news gathering, etc. on the cheap. The VTR and camera are almost certainly monochrome units.

There is value, but it is 'what someone will pay for it'. Having all the accessories and manuals helps you a good deal. There is a limited niche market of early VTR collectors that should be interested. If all was working decently, and I came upon it at a swap meet I'd personally consider paying 50$-75$ for it. Not working probably less than 45$.

Back around 2008 I was at the big MARC extravaganza swap meet and came upon two desk top portable EIAJ tape machines with tape, (bigger than your portapack unit, and with better tape and signal features) but no accessories. One was a rare non-standard color model (sony AV-5000A), and the other was a monochrome one, both worked, but were missing trim pieces. I think I shelled out about 60$ for the AV-5000A, and left the other for about 25-40$. Well the seller could not find a buyer for the other one even at 25$, and instead of lugging it home they put it in the club donation auction...Where it sold to me for 3$, and I was the only interested bidder!

If you attend the ARCI swap meets, can bring it to one that I can attend (college tends to make me miss the winter meets), and need it sold, I'd give you 25$ for it.

That a nice little porta-pack setup.I have a camera similar to that one.It also missing the grip handle on it.

I've recently purchased similar Sony systems for well under $100, including shipping. While they are interesting, and I hope you will preserve it or donate it to someone who will, they are not very valuable at this time.

Wow. A unit that complete would be fun to play with.
