Hi.
A couple of weeks ago, I got an Hitachi FP-40 in a good shape and as it seems to be, with an surprising good picture quality (see below).

The reason for "as it seems to be" is, that I do not have the a lens the is really fitting. It is not not the mount that is a little bit uncommon (..at lest to me) it also is the flange back distance that must be something like 6 cm or so, so that t is far away from any other B3/B4 flange back distance I know.
As - compared to other ENG-cams - the FP-40 is really huge I can not rule out the possibility that the FP-40 has 1" tubes the space in the body is there. (I'll check that soon)
Obviously the FP-40 wasn't that popular so I did not find a single information about this camera on the Internet to check the tube size the, flange type and other things.
I also checked some lenses (Schneider and Angenieux) that were made for 1" cams that the mount and the flange back obviously were different. (..aside of the back focal problem none of the had the bayonet- locking on the lens-side)
I tried the 80mm lens of a Kiew 6x6-cam - and this one really did work. (hold on the mount by my hands the mount was of course completely different).
The picture a saw was astonishing good, judging from the comet tailing (blue) and lagging ("medium") I saw, I would say the FP-40 must have had saticons, maybe HS 202 or so.
Sensitivity and colors weren't that bad that is why I am so keen on completing it..
So, does anybody know the FP-40 or has seen the mount before?
