Seems like a lot of us are finding old Magnavox color tv's lately. That T-920 talked about here--My T-995 I spoke about a few weeks ago....now THIS.

ANOTHER thrift store find !! for $20 !! A T-933 Mag floor style console. Man--it has proabbly been about 30 YEARS--since i last had one of these type of sets !!

I JUST got it out of the van. A quick power up did NOT show any raster... I heard horizontal running..but I THINK I heard WEAK HV crackling somewhere. I did NOT have time to mess with it though. Will later. I DO recall--that in the early-mid 1980's when I ran into this type of set...a LOT of them seemed to have bad flybacks. I hope that is NOT the case here...The H-out tube did NOT seem to be red-plating. CRT condition unknown--has some cataracts--as expected--I think they did back "in the day" for that matter. DOES have I-O..BUT the I-O switch was in the OFF position.

A couple of not too-good phone pics...

I think I plucked the speakers out of one as a kid, and used them for my stereo.....

Ya want another pair? I re-gutted a similar Maggie that somebody stuck an 80's Zenith in, and have the tuners, speakers, and the cloth covered boards they mount to...

Woe is me, all I could find was an Admiral. :D

Is this a remote set? It's hard to tell.

I guess the powers that be at some thrifts are finally getting their heads out of their arses and figuring out that some want these.

My t-933 has it's original flyback. They were known to lose a flyback now and then but I found RCA sets were more likely to do that. These sets had more vertical trouble than anything . Also, some connections to the power resistors tend to corrode like the RCA sets.

Nice score on the Maggie! That's a nice looking set, that should be a fun project.
