I have a Tosiba C2027QB 4 system TV I picked up years ago used at the Salvation Army store; Ican't find any info on this set anywhere, there's nothing wrong with it,working excellent; just curious about where it was sold originally, etc. It has had the plug changed at some point, I'm thinking that it is a European market set that made its way to Canada and then to my house! :thmbsp:

Most multi-mode sets that came to the states were brought
back by servicemen. You could also get them from a
specialty electronics store in the big cities. They are not
available through normal distribution channels & deal networks.

They could be a pain to get info & parts for but most problems
are still generic. I have mostly seen Sonys & Sanyos. Also a
few Pannys (National), JVC, Samsung, & Grundig. For some reason
none seemed to work great with NTSC.

That's a nice one! I had a pretty sweet JVC set from 1984 that did PAL/SECAM/NTSC and had a fantastic picture. What I did at the time was build a Zenith DT990 digital converter box into the chassis, so it was a one-AC-plug portable in my yard. Four system :) I have it somewhere.

That's a pretty sweet old set. Is it a remote set? The 8-button varactor tuner seems unusual to me.

Hi Jon A, the 8 button varactor tuner led me to think it is a Euro-market set, but isn't a remote controlled set. It works great on NTSC, but haven't tried it out with a PAL source yet (I have a Samsung SV5000W vcr). It is switched to PAL by pulling the tint knob. The voltage is rated 110-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz, probably internally adjusted or auto awitching. I was using it as a bedroom set, but my wife didn't like the non-remote feature!

Hook up an old CATV converter with a volume control and you're good to go. :thmbsp: Very neat, I like sets with unusual features.
