Hey guys, I just bought a Sencore CR70 online. It is in nice shape with all of the adapters. But, I am not sure it works properly. I have tried to test both a 7JP4 and 8BP4.

What happens is you can set the filament voltage OK, but when I switch to check for shorts or emission the meter just shoots to 0. I know the tubes are good, tested both in my Motorola 9T1.

I am using the "universal adapter" at the pin locations per the book, and have set my tester per the manual, I have also attached a picture.

I also checked continuity of the clips to the pins on the harness that plugs into the Sencore.

Do I need to take the Sencore apart and try to figure out whats going on?

Thanks!

Try running through this test and calibration procedure: http://antiqueradios.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1218240 They are quite complex inside so I'd avoid it if possible.

I did the test, everything was in spec except the bias voltages tested a little low(60V instead of 68V for example)

I tried also to test my 10BP4 and same results.
