When I pull the connection off the back end of a CRT, is there danger of electricity being present? I'm guessing not but i want to make sure. I'm talking units of the 80s and 90s.

I want to clean the connections and make sure they look good.

The only place you should expect to have stored electricity is under that suction cup connection located on the bulbous part of the CRT, about halfway between the yoke and the face. Around 20KV. Not as deadly as a high voltage powerline cable running on poles along the street, but it still can knock you on your ass and you could get injured.

Be sure to disconnect the power cord before you start.
