Okay, been scoping all morning. Was getting frustrated as I couldn't seem to find anything that varied from the waveforms in Sams. Then I decided to check the ABL as suggested and this is the waveform I got and the one shown in the Sams. To me, with my untrained eye, it looks suspicious.

Wow that's a lot of ringing. Yea that could be it.

:banana:First I must say I am proud of you. If it were the olden
days I would have got you a Master Tech licence as soon
as your required 2000 hrs on the permit was up.

Yes that sure looks like it. If you havent yet check everything
in the ABL from the tripler on. Also see what effect the ABL
control has on the lines. Also see if its at #115 at 9-90 module.
Should be a nice clean horz pulse there.
You can also disable the ABL by grounding the B of Q201 &
see if the lines go away.
If not its getting in somewhere else but this still is an
important clue.
Keep up the good work

Okay, in the circuit around Q201 there are a number of resistors and on capacitor which was changed when I recapped the chassis. From there it goes up to the chromatic switch with a connected coming from the base of the 3rd Video Amp. I'm going to scope the base. The other direction goes to the limiter pot and then connected to the tripler. In that circuit there's a Zener diode of which I have a spare. My knowledge is limited so I don't know if or how that diode fits in.

So where down the line should I scope beyond the base of Q203? Is there a point around the limited pot I can check?

Oh, and I know it's not the transistor itself as I had an NOS and swapped it with the same results.

Oh, you mention the 9-90 module. I'm assuming you mean the horizontal board? If so, that's a 9-57 in my set. I see the 115 is the horizontal pulse. Should I go directly to the emitter leg or is the board connector good enough?
