View Full Version : 69 or 70 Sears Medalist 2 for free!
Tubejunke 08-21-2013, 01:42 AM I am not posting this in the classifieds because it is not for sale and I want the concentration of folks interested in what I call newer sets to see this and give this nice set a home where it will be appreciated.
The set is working and cosmetically clean. It is a 19" portable or table model with insta-view. If anyone is interested and in driving distance, get in touch and come by and pick it up. I like the set personally, but I'm experiencing girlfriend syndrome and have a new need for space for shoes, cookbooks, and nick nacks. My TVs have become the enemy of our existence and I can't stand to either junk another one or donate to thrift stores where they likely end up in a dumpster. My man card has not been yanked, but only restricted! LOL! There are 3 or 4 that will only go over my dead body! :tears:
Jon A. 08-21-2013, 10:20 AM Funny, they demand equality, yet most of them show almost zero interest in most of what we do. Time to lay down the law with this one, see if she's worth keeping. Sharing space doesn't mean taking over.
Username1 08-21-2013, 11:02 AM Hi ! I am very interested in a Sears Medalist 19" B&W tv, we had one while I was a kid, One was a 1965, and the other newer, not sure of the year.... Can you post a picture...?
Thank you...

You should KNOW that "equality" means equality on THEIR terms. Like "what is mine is mine, and what is yours is mine". You can have one little corner of the garage, the rest of the house is MINE (even if it is YOUR House....)
Jon A. 08-21-2013, 07:55 PM Whatever their idea of equality is, if I had a girlfriend like that, I'd send her packing, no matter what she looked like. A controlling woman is no better than a controlling man.

According to Oprah..women should TOTALLY control men!! ... Saw this while working on a tv some time ago. I will NEVER forget the time she had a woman on her show, not a small woman, who proudly spoke about how she had "full control" of her husband. She siad if he did not do EXACTLY what she wanted--she would "pick him up and beat on him". Evidently, her husband was a weak, small little man. And Oprah AND the audience CHEERED about it
That is "equality" for ya...
Tubejunke 08-21-2013, 08:49 PM Well guys, thanks for understanding, but perhaps I worded it too strongly. She is not making me get rid of sets necessarily. My home has long been occupied by me and all of my electronic equipment. I don't even have space for a guest to sleep over in a 3 bedroom house! And I sort of wanted to lighten my load even before she came along, but didn't feel as pushed as I do now.
To be fair though, with all of this big stuff sitting around everywhere I can see where it might bother her to only have a few drawers and parts of a couple of closets to keep all of her worldly goods in. She mentions the TVs more than other things because there are more of them taking up needed space. She recommends getting a storage building. I wonder whose stuff will be put there; mine or hers.........
The Medallist 2 set was just something that I rescued sometime through the years that really has no specific love in my heart like the much older sets, so I figure if something needs to go, then it might be a good candidate. Thinning the herd makes it much easier to be able to work on other things that otherwise are in gridlock stuffed in small corners or with things piled upon them.
Username1, if you have a way come and get this one. I don't believe much in mailing TV sets, but if you want to pay to have it professionally packed and shipped, we can make arrangements. Just let me know....
rca2000 08-21-2013, 09:26 PM in THIS case...I will have to side with HER. Obviously she will need more than "a couple of drawers" for her stuff. Just do NOT let her "do a clean up" someday, while you are gone" and come home to either find all of your stuff on the lawn waiting for the packer man, or worse yet...find out he has already been there....

He stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without
too many TV's among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

Yes, a total "clean up" would be unacceptable. As for Oprah, never cared much for her, especially since she lost all that weight and started to look so, for the lack of a better word, snobby. If the order were reversed, there would have been a major backlash for a man talking about beating on a woman to control her.
