ads gone now, picked this up in queens right by JFK. She had it up for a few weeks, ads gone now, but she had pictures with the doors closed, kind of shot herself in the foot on that one.

And thanks to the worlds toughest negotiator, sampson159, set came home for $75. She works, got a nice raster and audio, will check more and get more pics when it's off the truck.

Ron, u should be on the priceline commercials, $300 down to $75. wow!

The house was a freak scene. I kidnapped my nephew for the ride, as soon as we got there, several skinny somali/sudanese possible drug addicts descended on us. She asked them to help, but these guys looked like they couldn't lift 20 lbs. Glad i had my nephew.

It think she may run a a half way house for recovering drug addicts. She said she has other stuff, i told her just tv's.

You defiantly picked up something that I will never see local, and the fact that it puts out a picture with audio without any restoration is something I've never come across..

The only reason i got to this set, is like i said, she had the doors closed in the photo, high price, bad description.

I told u in regards to that GE console in long island, even up here, roundies are a tough nut.

On yours you should change to the high volt primary tap on the Power trans and check the eff coil for min current.

1964-1964, 580 chassis most likely. I have the same set :)

They're basically a CTC-15 clone. Have fun!

color is whacked, color adjustment knob does nothing. Have seen this before, where the set didn't like an certain rf converter. Will play and report back.

Individual guns show movement, so at least i got something to work with.

Looks like you're not locking onto the burst.

If there are 6gh8 tubes on the chroma board, replace them. Then check the solder connections to the chassis ground stakes. Could still be something else like bad crystal, tube, or caps, but I start with these first.

In regard to ground stakes, this is preachin' to the choir for sure here, but can't be sed often enough. Always re-flow the ground stakes on the far right end of the chroma board. Although not related to the color sync problem, when these two go open (and they will!), it kills the heaters on the 6GU7s.

When that happens there's a cascade of unsavory events. The 6GU7s' plates go 'waay positive, driving the CRT grids positive (since they're direct coupled). CRT beam current goes into avalanche, lugging the HV down. Picture blooms, goes out of focus and then fades out. Yet the 3A3, flyback, and 6JE6 are still getting hammered with overcurrent and overheating. If you don't catch it in time it can be a real meltdown... just because of those 6GU7s' heaters going out.

This ground stake problem was endemic in the CTC-15, 16, 17 and 25 before being corrected.

Same goes for mid-60's Maggie color sets as well!
