Hey, everyone,
I'm trying to identify the TV that I spent my childhood watching. It was a Hitachi tabletop Color set. My parents got it as a wedding present in 1982. I was born in 1990. The TV was my only exposure to video entertainment until we replaced it with a new 25" Zenith in 1997. The CRT on the Zenith shorted a few months later on thanksgiving day, 1997, and the Hitachi went back into service until 1999, when we bought a BPC 25" Sanyo, which was killed in a lightning strike in the fall of 2003. The Hitachi was placed back into service briefly and was replaced by a 27" Philips in early 2004. By the time we stopped using the Hitachi, the CRT was fuzzy and weak, with blooming reds, and I remember the vertical being shrunk. It ended up in the basement and was given away to Goodwill when I was in High School around 2005.

This is the closest thing I found to the Hitachi I remember. I swear it had a 25" CRT.

25" versions of this sets were not common, I don't remember ever having seen one. I have a 19" one almost identical to the one in the photo if you're interested.
Always loved the cabinet design of those 80's Hitachi's....

Hi there,
I once owned a Hitachi "Signal - Tracker" 19" color tv that looked just like that. It had a S.T. button which was basically an AFT button. The tube had an affiliation to RCA. Mine was a 1983 model
