I picked up this tubed Panasonic this morning, I would guess it's an 8 or 9 inch. The paper tag is missing so I don't know the model number but I'm guessing early 70's or late 60's.
It works, it's clean, and the CRT is very strong but the vertical doesn't want to lock in very well so it probably needs some Caps.

Looks like a 1968 or 9 to me. Cute set, nice score. Caps in the vertical going bad are common with these. My first tube set was a 12" Panasonic from '67, got it in '95 and still have it too:D

I wonder if it uses the 11MS8 vert tube. :scratch2:

Nice! I think I have a green one like this. IIRC, it would work OK for awhile and then the video would gradually wash out. Those Japanese caps weren't that great and I'm sure mine and yours will benefit from a recap.

I got 2 of those Panasonics they are AN-109's if I'm not mistaken... you shouldn't have to do anything to it, just a tube.... well on second thought...... they did have some bad caps back then.....

I have a beige/grey version...Tube, think it was made 1968-71 thereabouts..Panny kept tube sets around longer than most, I think. But IIRC, their tube versions were virtually all "Economy-Priced" models, I.E. "Cheap"... But they ARE cute, & not many seem to have survived.

They also made some *excellent* tube AM/FM radios back in the day. Wooden cabinets, big speakers, quality design/construction. My parents had one of mine that was a $5 garage sale buy 25 or so years ago. It was in daily use with the original tubes until a few years back when the volume and tone pots finally died. Real nice piece. We saved it, iI'll fix it eventually and it'll run another 20 years...
