A friend gave me this 19" knob tuned RCA from '85 after his neighbor gave it to him. I had to replace the speaker and it makes a picture; but, it's not as sharp as it could be and it looks like the alignment is a little off. This uses the CTC118 chassis; which, is the one with the big electrolytic filter cap on the back of the chassis that was a common failure. It looked like I was the first one to remove the back on this TV. It is housed in a silver plastic cabinet and does not say "XL100" or "colortrak". I suspect this was RCA's cheapest 19" color TV.

Even the cheapest RCA was still better than many others in those days. I swear I saw some of those with JCPenny badges on them.

I have An RCA Set similar to this one but it is an '84

It is in Storage and it comes with a CTC 120 Chassis and different tuner.

Soon, I will get it out.

RCA made a bunch of TV's for JCPenny for many years.

Well, what would be the difference between the chassis in this as opposed to the one in an XL 100?

This set looks exactly like some XL100-badged TV's that I've seen, including the chassis. I don't know why this TV isn't labeled as an XL100.
