Picked this up at a barn sale last year, aria model 542, has a shortwave band and standard band. The top is rough and missing some pieces, I will most likely put a new piece on top. The cord is totally gone. Has a nice rola speaker in it.
I replaced the cord, next was to get to the electrolytics. Found somebody mounted a 3 can section under the chassis. Tore that out and replaced the electrolytics. Fired it up and got stations:music: even picked up China radio on shortwave band. Next is to replace the wax capacitors, theres only a few in there, and then move on to the cabinet.

That's a nice set, looks like a 6" speaker? And transformer-operated, a quality touch. And it has a backwards dial! :yes:

That cord wouldn't have stopped some people from plugging it in! :yikes:
