Brought it up with me from my place, now near Washington DC, to mom's house in NJ where I grew up with a similar Admiral TV in this very spot mine is now sitting. And it survived the trip fine. Had to remove the chassis from the cabinet, so I could handle it (I ain't that strong...). It didn't seem to mind the trip up Interstate 95. Also seen is the vintage rabbit ears we had on the previous Admiral (long gone, unfortunately), and a Zenith CECB you need today.

I showed the Admiral to my brother "Remember as kids we had a set like this". He had forgotten that the old Admiral was tossed back in the 70's. He thought this set was it. "Oh, you refurbished it". "Yes, this one works pretty well (some buzz in the sound when very white graphics in the video appear, and the tuner is a bit dirty), but today we need to use a CECB".

I must say, that TV looks "right at home!"

I was finishing up a pink and white Hotpoint and had a vcr connected. There was a buzzing in the sound that I could not get to go away. Turns out it was the vcr's OSD causing it. Turned the display off and the buzzing went away. Funny how simple things can cause problems.

Really nice Admiral, by the way.

Is this your Mom's house?

Is the TV in the basement, er, fruit cellar?
