Sandy G 12-20-2012, 06:37 PM I've used Meguier's Body Scrub & then gone over it after that w/a coat or 2 of their Pure Carnauba Wax, & had VERY good results... Dave A 12-20-2012, 07:02 PM I'm partial to the Novus #2. Great results on bakelite and even varnishes on wood cabinet sets. Sandy G 12-20-2012, 08:53 PM W/my method of using the Meguier's products, you get pretty "Physical", & I'd recommend wearing clothes you wouldn't mind throwin' away..Maybe the Novus stuff is easier to use, & I guess some guys would use a polishing wheel, but I've always done it using my hands..I've worked on Bakelite w/Meguiers' & Flitz...Both seem to give comparable results, but "Going Over" it w/the carnauba wax afterwards seems to impart a lasting sheen..Bakelite, IMHO, shouldn't shine as much as it should "Glow"... marty59 12-20-2012, 09:42 PM I've had really good results using hand glaze compound, the stuff for taking out swirl marks out of automotive paint finishes. It will clean and leave a nice protective sheen too. But it will give you a workout depending on how much crud is embedded. Also works well on painted over bakelite finishes too, and good for minor scratches and blemishes. |
