Funny, I could not spot in the write up that the TV production was color. The ad did mention however that the wire insulation was made in bright Monsanto colors. bozey45 10-19-2012, 03:18 AM Red Skelton's production company had some of the first color cameras in use in Hollywood, on CBS no less. As I understand it, he experimented with color on his show as early as 1956. I remember the annoucement about his show being in color back then, not every week, which I thought was strange. The announcer would say "Live, in color from Hollywood, the Red Skelton Show...." IsthmusTV 10-19-2012, 08:49 AM Interesting that they required not one but two cable grips to handle that beast! Very neat ad, thanks for sharing it. -Clark kx250rider 10-19-2012, 09:50 AM Red Skelton's production company had some of the first color cameras in use in Hollywood, on CBS no less. UCLA now has one; the other is with a private collector and retired KTLA official. Charles vallieone 10-19-2012, 04:35 PM post deleted |
