The price is much to high but anyway it has all we need :yes:

The tape deck is a Hornyphon (Phillips in Austria...)

As a missionary in Wien back in 1980, the retreat house where our group lived had three TV's: An early 50's 17" Hornyphon set with a UHF converter (DOA when I got there, but after cleanout and re-capping worked OK); a 1970's vintage Hornyphon 19" B&W with varactor tuning; and a National color set.

The tape deck is a Hornyphon ... a 1970's vintage Hornyphon 19" B&W with varactor tuning...

There was a German radio tech that was in business in Milwaukee for several years.
He showed me a Tv chassis, from a Saba combination, brought from Germany. The owner wanted it converted to NTSC. B&W, of course. It didn't impress me at all. PC board, series string and all full of odd-ball Euro tubes.
At the time the average RCA or Zenith was a better design.

No question I prever point to point wiring in the earlier sets too. If you say european tubes are a little bit odd I guess it's a question of habit. Series string heating and hot chassis were also very common in Germany and Austria too. Compared to other european sets, which were built much smaller this one is something special. Not only it's size but the combination of a radio a record player and a tape recorder is rare. The condition of this set seems to be mint and the fact that color wasn't established in germany at the time the set was manufactured makes it top of the line. If the Hornyphon (I don't like it) tape recorder, that made me think it could be a Kuba , was built in later it could be this set:

If it really is this one it has a stereo PP output radio and wireless remote control. Of course no colour roundy but not that bad in my opinion.

I plan to post a few photos of my sets soon. One is a portable transformer set with aluminium cabinet and chassis and ceramic tube sockets.

Hey Josef: I discussed European tube numbering with the same gentleman, that was working on the Saba tv chassis. I mentioned the their tubes had a strange number designation.
He replied: The numbering made more sense than the US method. After hearing the explanation, I had to agree with him. :yes:

Does the first letter designate heater voltage? E=6v, second is application L= beam power , etc??

Then number is tube specific, like an EL84 is a 6BQ5

"CC" = dual triode very logical, If I had not been remembering and reading about American tubes for the last 37 years, the numbering would really confuse me. :scratch2:I can really empathize with our Austrailian and European VK members.
