Dragged this thing home tonight, neat little set from the 70's, classic Panasonic styling of the era.

The CRT is really worn out and I think it originally had a removable glare shield over the screen but it's not there now.

There was a 12" Taiwan built 1989 Magnavox there a week or so ago with a perfect CRT (in fact the set was near perfect but boring) wonder if that later CRT would fit this set?
The set is a light cream Yellow but I'm not sure it's supposed to be or if it's just aged, it's evenly colored at least.

Note the screen shot, it really is almost that blurry, and the white areas glow and shine from the low emissions.
Judy's forehead is just a white blob with the brightness turned up.

Nice set! I think I have a good 12" CRT that came out of an RCA from about the same time period. If the filament voltages match and if they both mount the same way, it will probably work.

I let the set run while I edited the pictures and posted the above and by the time I was done the picture had sharpened up nicely, let it run while I got a shower and now the picture is bright and razor sharp! I expect it may fade again after it cools but at least it's useable.

Edit: I let it cool down for 30 minutes and turned it back on, it popped on immediately, the set has Instant On, tube looks good under those conditions but it probably hasn't done it any good to run the heater for thirty years.

Some time I will pull the back and see if I can test the tube and find out what type it is.
