I posted this TV for sale locally a few weeks ago. They wanted $400 for it. I waited and waited and my friend and I went and bought it for $75. It gas a 23EGP22A CRT and is original. Tests as new for red and green and very good for blue. Good life test. The CRT bias is turned all the way down and produces a very bright picture. I know it's amazing for this particular tube. Seems to be a low hours set. Sometimes the vertical loses sync(drops down) depending on the programming. The electrolytics stay ice cold. That doesn't say much and will probably be replaced sooner than later. It is just starting to get cataracts but is not noticeable during viewing. TV is from 1967. Uses the KC chassis.

Nice save! That is a very pretty cabinet! Nice picture too. A lot of bad things are said about the GE color sets but there is something I like about them......:)

The fact that it still works 45 years later without many issues says that it has some quality. Even the worst 60's sets will undoubtedly outlast ANY Chinese set made today .
I like the oddball sets. Lots of Zenith and RCA and Maggies left still bot not near as many GE's. It is a nice cabinet, very small set which I like. It's going to my friend Troy. This will be his second tube set. Funny how this addiction rubs off on other people.

me likie ,that seem's to be the norm now 50.00 to 100.00 at least thats what iv been paying ,and if they have good crt and the tv's are complete im alright with sure save's time hunting down parts.

Totally agree on your first statement! I like the oddballs too, I have a few roundies that are. Also, one or two rectangulars kicking around too. I haven't been able to rub off my addiction on anyone...... YET:thmbsp:

Congrats!! Good to again see a decent pic on a 23EG. The GE must have better demod circuits than the 6LE8 setup in the Motorolas. :thmbsp:

'67 was a VERY good year, IMHO...Muscle cars, I was 10, not a care in the world, & I was JUST startin' to notice the NIIIIIIICE curves on the 6-8th grade girls...That was also the age of the Miniskirt, an Invention that's RARELY been improved on, NEVER equalled.....Portable Color TVs come CLOSE, but overall, I'd rather see leggy girls...(grin)

I had an Olympic with that same tube, weak as it was, the color and sharpness were very good. Nice tv, and very nice cabinet. Now that I look at it again, the cabinet looks pretty close too.

Still has all it's original tubes. Vertical has the jitters. Changed most of the caps in that circuit but no change. Vertical lines are wavy. May have a sync problem?? The tubes test good.. This chassis cannot be removed completely without removing the convergence clover. Whoever thought of that ought to be shot.

There aren't many sets I really want to add to my collection (and there are plenty I want to subtract!) but a KC/KE GE is very much one of them. Nice score!

Nice set that looks to have a nice picture. In 23+ years, I've only had two GE tube consoles. One was a KD set similar to yours. The other was a cheap POS tube color console from the early '70's that used a series string chassis like what was used in the 19" portables. I probably didn't see too many GE's because they didn't stand the test of time like some other brands and people dumped them before I got into TV's.

This one is definitely low hours. Belonged to a lady who was 99 years old. It has an awesome picture. I noticed it has less jitters on my OTA box then my RS RF modulator. I think there may be a sync issue. I may substitute a tube or two before I get deep into it. Removing the chassis requires that I remove the convergence clover. I'd prefer not to since the convergence is really good.

That's got one of the nicest, most natural looking pictures I've ever seen on a color TV.
