Looks like a Canadian built set. The earlier British sets had strange styling quirks. There was a few British firms that set up plants in Canada, such as Marconi.

And its vert knob is labelled "Vertical Hold" instead of "Frame Hold"(Brit)

Philips also tried their luck in Canada in the 50s

Philips didn't try US until 80's buying US brands
Result: Financial Armageddon

Pye got taken over by Philips in the mid-late 1970's having joined up with Ekco around 1964.

As a manufacturer Pye went right back to the very early days of radio
in the 1920's.

Have you got any more pictures of that TV? The inside view might give a clue as to its origin, looks mid-late 1950's to me and by that time their styling for UK models had settled down to a more conventional look.

Wasn't Norelco the name Philips used for their US consumer products? I have two Norelco projection TVs from 1950-52 that have the name Philips inside on several items.
