Thought I'd post photos of my newest Sylouette. Now I have two. Been looking for a newer one for a while. Finally scored. Could use a schematic if anyone has one. Here are photos of the new one and my old one. I think these are really cool sets.

Cool. Isn't it basically the same set with the exception of the base? Oh I guess the mask is slightly different shaped too.

The chassis has some differences. How much I'm not sure yet as I put it aside for now. I'm almost positive the CRT is different also. I think the older one is a 21" and the newer one a 23" but I haven't checked it out yet.

But you are right. The older set came in the both styles plus a couple of others. Not sure on the newer one.

Craigslist.

The first one I drove to near Madison, WI to get. Heckava long way from here. The second, I went to look at a Philco Miss America that was more beat than I wanted and found this instead.

See!...If you had not snatched that one out from under my nose(and claim to it) you would have had one eventually, and not been stuck with two of the same thing cluttering up your living space....And not annoyed me in the process of doing so, and I would not STILL be looking for one(sigh!).

My (boyhood) neighborhood barber shop had one of those earlier Sylvania's in it, blond cabinet and all!!

Get over it Tom. You had your chance and blew it! Like I explained to you before, you had no claim on it. I was allowed to get it from a fellow Minnesota collector who had already made arrangements to actually pick it up while you were still getting up the nerve to ask your parents if you could buy it. The only "claim" you made was here and you were not the only one who was interested. You know, we do get the Madison Craigslist over in Minnesota. If you want one, quit bitching about it and buy one, if mommy and daddy will let you. There out there.

This looks kinda like the one I sent you the sams from the other site. Cant say im a fan of the white plastic looking front. It would take some getting used to.

Sure wish someone knew the Sams # for my 1954(?) 27-inch Halo Lite with end-table tuner/radio/phono. I can't find any model # on the remote half, and the TV half is deeply buried...

Im sure it can be found but solid good info is needed. Pictures, tube numbers, a for sure year...something solid. Its not that big of a deal to look through a whole year, but its best to be absolutely sure of the year.

Is it a halo light?

They both are. AFAIK the newer one was one of the very last ones.

neat, tvtimeisfun has a halo light combo unit with the original instructions. The radio works, but the tv, and record player have bad caps.
