I picked this up at the Santa Barbara hamfest on Sunday. It was a mess. The pointer was sticking, the power switch was bad, the thing didn't really work.
The guy wanted $10 but immediately came down to $5. I said sorry, only $2 and he took that.
After a couple of days of replacing capacitors, cleaning, and testing, it finally now seems to work perfectly. I don't need another audio voltmeter but I used to own one of these and it's a bit of memorabilia for me.
There is a calibration sticker on it, dated 1962. But the unit is much older, probably WW II surplus. It even uses neon bulbs for voltage regulation, while later versions used a VR tube.
