That's a very nice set though I imagine it will be next to impossible to find a good 24" round metal, it's probably nearly as rare as a 30BP4!

Regardless I'd rather have it sitting in my house non functional than "repurposed" into anything.

Believe me that if I could get it I would. Please, somebody rescue it.
I think you can eventually find a working tube.
I wonder how the tech knew the vertical circuit wasn't working....
I think that set's worth saving.....

I spotted the eBay listing before I read this thread, and had assumed that the set was a 21 incher and the seller was measuring the trim instead of the CRT, as I was unaware of any round 24" tubes other than, I think, DuMont being made for TV use.

Who made the CRT?

This tube shows up in the GE and Tung-Sol tube manuals, maybe others.

I saw a 24" B&W Roundie at a local collectors house some years ago, I think it was a Muntz?

Manny years ago I had a 24" round Stromberg Carlson. They do exist, and, I'm convinced this is one of that size. I think it should be saved. Not made into a fish tank.

It was huge.
Thought about bidding on it simply as a novelty.

RACS had a few up in the attic as well, but there's no interest in having them made since the sets are so rare to turn up. I doubt many were ever sold.
