My brother in law dropped off an RCA TV yesterday, and it's almost exactly what I wanted in a 21 inch B/W set :an RCA with a DeLuxe chassis. Already have the RCA service lit, and will get a copy of the SAMS folder. The CRT is cooking right now at 6.3 volts, and has come up quite a bit from first check, being in the center of the "good" area on my RCA CRT tester, so it looks like a go. All original, except for tube replacements, including the CRT, which is A Sylvania 21ACP4A dated 40th week of 1962. Now I need to get going on the CTC-5 so I can start this one! :thmbsp:

Nice looking RCA and its in extremely good condition, should bounce back really well and you've got a good CRT in it so thats very promising...Good find
Cheers.

What year ? Given the "Squarish" CRT, I'd guess late '50s...

The set shown, should be a KCS97, which was one of RCA's better efforts. Keyed AGC, Two stages of video amp and many of them had more than one speaker. a real keeper.

No that's the CRT, clearly a replacement. The TV is from ~1956.
