So, I just picked up what I undertand to be a Motorola VT 24R, says Model 10VT24R, and this newbies is now at a loss. I need a left hand front knob, and an electrical cord, otherwise, this puppy seems intact, and ready to sort out what it needs to get cranking again. Where should I begin? Any suggestions about how or where to get the missing external parts? It's in darn good external shape, has a back, and is on a cute little stand that swivels. But need to start with a cord and a left hand knob for the front. Ideas? Curious as to what this thing might be worth? Thanks, Scott

The cord should be a standard "cheater" cord; there are places online that sell them but I bet somebody on here could set you up with one. If nobody else comes forward let me know. I could likely dig one out. Great gobs of TV's and radios from the 40s-60s+ used the same end.
For the knob, if you could get a good close-up photo of what it looks like and post it here, one of use may have it.
The set will need a bunch of new capacitors. I wouldn't even try it until I replaced at least some of them. What kind of experience to you have?

As Bryan said, DO NOT plug it in once you do get a power cord, until after some of the capacitors have been replaced (though sometimes you can get away with testing them and starting with a low AC voltage for power).
