Just spent the afternoon tweaking my CTC10. Soldered some connections on the audio board to clear up a hum and fade problem. Did a full convergence on it too, Not bad if I do say so myself.

Sandy G 06-02-2012, 08:10 PM Glorious Lollipop Color...(grin) old_tv_nut 06-02-2012, 09:06 PM "The story you have just seen is true..." Big Dave 06-02-2012, 10:37 PM The names have been changes to protect the innocent. Tom... Nice work. hi_volt 06-02-2012, 11:41 PM The name is Friday....Joe Friday. Excellent picture. Love it! Tom S 06-03-2012, 11:49 PM Thanks guys. Just bringing out the old in me. Still love the finess to get a great picture on these old sets. New electronics is not a real thrill any more. Sandy G 06-04-2012, 06:57 AM ...An' Joe just LOOKS better/more realistic on a roundie... DavGoodlin 06-04-2012, 08:06 AM ...An' Joe just LOOKS better/more realistic on a roundie... Nothing better that classic material on a quality TV. Good Job. BTW- Did color look different on a 21CYP22 versus a 21FBP22 ?? An old tech I worked with (somehow the oldest guys in the shop did the road calls) :smoke:used to say "Just the facts Ma'am" Kevin Kuehn 06-04-2012, 08:17 PM A retired TV guy I used to work with would keep saying " Iah need a fix cus I'm gettin' doown" :D Sandy G 06-04-2012, 08:33 PM Jack Webb owned the "Dragnet" series, & was notoriously cheap-He & Harry Morgan wore the same clothes for virtually EVERY show for the 4 year run, saving on costume costs, and furthermore, footage from any show could be used on virtually any other show, w/no loss of continuity. A number of the "Guest Stars" on "Dragnet" were Webb's friends, drinking buddies, & cohorts-He even got ex-wife Julie London to star in "Emergency !", along w/her 2nd husband, Bobby Troup. Tom S 06-04-2012, 11:11 PM Yes there is a color diffrenance between the two. I believe the phosphors are diffrent on the FBP crt. Pete Deksnis 06-05-2012, 08:55 AM He even got ex-wife Julie London to star.... Good grief Sandy, so I'm not the only one who remembers junk like that? ;-) Sandy G 06-05-2012, 09:20 AM Nope. Its sorta a blessing/curse to remember stuff like this...On the one hand, some people look at you as some sort of a God, able to remember stuff...Most of the time, though, I think you're looked on as pretentious, or at worst, a Crashing Bore...Another downside, for me, anyway, is that I'm NEVER able to completely "Turn it Off"...And while I think stuff like this is kinda neat, there's absolutely NO way to make any money offa it, unfortunately. Tom S 06-05-2012, 08:40 PM Old Tv is my game, Tv trivia is too. Just can't shake the old shows. Even better on an old tv far as I'm concerned. ChrisW6ATV 06-05-2012, 09:38 PM while I think stuff like this is kinda neat, there's absolutely NO way to make any money offa it, unfortunately. It is a shame... If there was, my trivial brain might be able to pay the mortgage! :) |
