I have been on the look out for a Zenith because i know they are said to last forever and after getting my first vintage TV a Color 12in Sears from 1977 i even wanted a Zenith more. Today i went to a local thrift store NOT going there to look for anything like that as my parents said NO more tv's (I only have 4:D) But being this is wear i found my Sears set i just had to look and sure anuff There sits a 12in Zenith with a red led channel display when i first saw it i thought it was from the late 70's to mid 80's but then i saw a RF jack on it so i know it was newer then that it turns out it was made in mar.1990 a little bit newer then i wanted but it Seems hard to find any Zenith's wear i am. But then i saw "All TV's $10.98" and i was not going to buy it because i got my sears from the same store for $5 and that was a hi-end model at the time Then as i walk away from the zenith i known i would regret it if i left it there and it would be trashed so i went back over and plugged it in to there analog Cable Line and turned it on and WOW what a crisp colorful picture it made i then sat there and watched it for 20min and it works great so i ended up buying it Because it was a Zenith and had a very good picture i would have liked a Zenith from the 60's or 70's but this will do:) I Know i did not save a very old set but there are not menny Zenith's left around hear so every one counts it says on the back something like made zenith illinois and the model # (Or chass #?) S1302B but then we went to another thrift store just up the street and i found a 80's-or early 90's Zenith VCR this was only $3 i plugged it in and put in a tape and it sounded like it was playing it (They have no tv's to try it with) and being a Zenith it was not a hard choice to make if i was going to buy it. At the first thrift store they had some console tvs as well they look like 70's to early 80's one was a RCA XL-100 mayby 25in if you want to know the name and address of the thrift store please send me a PM:) I will post photos of the Zenith Tomorrow or Monday:D

Sounds like you made a nice save, is this the one with the rotary volume control and no remove, but has a direct access keypad for channel entry?

Was the VCR a VHS or a Beta? Hifi/not HiFi? how many heads? the Beta decks where made by sony, most of the VHS where made by JVC some of the early-mid 80's ones where built like tanks. Well for $3 you can't go wrong...

Any pictures of the units?

15-20 years ago, I was always finding '70's Zenith Chromacolor II's and '60's tube color sets; but, they have about dried up now. Except for a beat up 19" 4-tube hybrid color set from '74 that I found 3-4 years ago, I have not had a Zenith tube set in at least 10 years. Sometimes, I'll run across a '70's CCII or something from the '80's; but, those are getting harder to find. The only Zenith's I don't want to find are those horrible sets with bad CRT's that were made from around '92 onward.

The GW around here sells most small color sets for $0.99. Every time I go there, I look over the sets available. Bad move. They all work, and fairly well. If I go there on Wednesday, seniors day, I get them for $0.88, including tax. Last time I was there, I picked up an RCA built, GE. It works perfect, including the original remote.

Yes, it has a rotary volume control and the keypad:). I looked up the VCR Model # and did a Google search i found out the VCR has 3 Heads And it is a VHS Player/REC Made in the late 80's/early 90's Model # VRE150 it did not say if it was Hi-Fi or not? But i don't think it is:)

I remember when i was 9ish (Back in 2003) there was a thrift store that had some Late 60's to mid 70's console tv's i wanted to buy one back then not because it was older but because i wanted a tv but my parents said it was to big and to old they said that they would buy me a new small (13") for my 10 Bday. boy i wish i some how would have got one of these console's that day:tears: Now that thrift store is gone and the other one used to have 3 12 foot? selves full of old tv's but when i went to get my sears set that was only 1 of 6 and was the oldest, i know some of the other ones they used to have had tubes i think they started testing them and Found out alot did not work and trashed them.

We have GW's around hear as well:) and i bought a 13in magnavox smart series with remote for $2.00 i still have it to day i just need to find it:D.

Given the age of that VCR I'd say if it has stereo audio jacks on the back then it is a HiFi unit.

I don't think I've seen a '90's Zenith exactly like that. The ones I saw from the early '90's were the type with the controls under the CRT. I have seen some similar sets from the mid '80's. The Zenith's that I remember with the red LED readouts were non-cable ready. The green LED readout models were cable ready. Zenith also made a 12" and a 19" B&W set with a similar electronic tuner. I suspect yours is one of the last Zenith's with a standard power/volume knob.

My sister had one of these Zeniths TV's we sold it at one of our garage sales, nice sent good picture. If the VCR has red and white audio outputs but it says that it is a 3 head, then it would be a linear stereo unit. Not bad anyway you look at it. Enjoy the sets.
