When Monty Python's Flying Circus was first aired in Canada I guess I was about seven or eight, far too young to get most of the jokes, but I laughed anyway because everybody else did.
However, the animations were another matter. Really, they scared the daylights out of me. No doubt this was partially because I was a high-strung child, but they were the stuff of nightmares. Did anyone else have this experience?

I was over 13 when I first watched Monty Python, and I got nearly all the jokes, but was not bothered by the cartoons.

Yes, I must have quickly grown out of it, because I remember seeing the Holy Grail movie when it came out, and laughing uproariously at them, especially the "Just when it seemed there was no hope for Arthur and his knights, the animator suffered a fatal heart attack. The cartoon menace was no more."

I think I was around 11 or 12 when I first stumbled across Monty Python. The animated segments were sure weird but I didn't get too freaked out :)
