There's a KP-41T15 that's been sitting at a local thrift store for weeks now... they initially put it out for $50, then it came down to $35, and now it's $12,99. When it first was put out it was in pristine outside condition but has suffered a few indignities since then... the right hand speaker grille was knocked by a cart wheel or something and is missing pieces.

Anyway, what would cause it to do this? When put on an empty channel, it doesn't display "snow" but rather displays the snow in a scrambled windowblind kind of configuration, just like this one. Kind of like when an LCD panel controller fails and it has pink/coloured lines everywhere? That's the best way I can describe it. My cell phone would only capture the setup screen, as you see there, it wouldn't grab a pic of the snow. I know it also more than likely needs convergence ICs, as those are the reason most of these RPTV beasts are thrown out. I should also add, that's exactly how the screen looks, the phone didn't capture it mid-frame. The first half of AUTO SET UP is decent as you see there, but then the rest is all screwed up.
