Hello all,

I"m a newbie to this venue of vintage items LOL. I'm known for grabbing anything older than me or close or something I grew up around. I live for Retro. I have recently stumbled across an old 1950's model Philco Television/radio/record player in my neighborhood at an estate sale for only 10.00 this thing is AWESOME> I'm now venturing in getting it restored. And on my searches I found this site :D :D :D

Welcome, Lance, and good luck with the restoration--I'm sure you'll find plenty of help here. Not from me, however; I'm as clueless as you when it comes to the technical side of things, LOL. I look for old stuff that still works ;-). I'm originally from NJ and still love it there.

Welcome! You can't go wrong at that price, and a Philco from that era shouldn't be too hard to bring back to life. Never be afraid to ask a question here.

There is plenty of good info out there on repair and most folks here (including me) have a lot of experience repairing vintage electronics. If you plan to fix it your self then (provided the radio has it's own chassis and power supply and is not integrated in to the TV chassis) I'd reccomend fixing the radio first as it is less complicated/easier to fix, is more foregiving to beginners mistakes, and will give good practice in most skills that will be needed to fix the TV.
