The resolution is too low to read the printing on the machine, but it looks like an audio sweep generator with level plotting output.

It's some sort of in/out plotter, regardless.

The setup is an early audio sweep generator (on top)
and a tracking (using chain) strip level plotter.

Used to plot audio response of amps,filters, loudspeakers, etc.
Cool equipment... I had one a long time ago.

Gives a calibrated plot of frequency response (in db) vs audio frequency.

The 630TS was marked at $90 and missing the mask and back. I hunted around in the basement for them, but came up empty. Also, the channel knob is missing a chunk, but otherwise it's in good condition.

I passed on it as I already have one, but I hope someone else can save it.

I poked around in the basement and also found a couple Zenith sets. The console had the back off and and clearly it was being worked on. The CRT plug was pulled off, some tubes were missing and the HV cage was opened up.

There were several tube testers shown in the listing, but all were gone very quickly. Must have been one of the first buyers let in. None of them looked like vintage electronic folks - more like professional estate sale buyers. They'll probably show up on ebay at inflated prices.

Here's what I came home with. An Admiral 20X11 in really good condition, a porthole chassis and some unknown chassis. Also a piece of test equipment just for the nixie tubes :)

I found the Admiral hiding in the garage. It appears to be in very good condition. All the knobs are there and it has the original masonite back. I used to think these had metal backs like the console version does.

Anyone recognize the chassis in the last picture ?

Very close, I already have the brown 20X12. This is black I think and no cracks. I'll know more tonight when I bring it inside for a closer look.

Also, my 20X12 had a chunk broken out of one side when I received it :( I've glued back on, but it's pretty noticeable.
I figure some filler and artist paints will help.

Yeah, pretty much the whole city is brick. I think it was required by code for years after the big fire.

If I had the money, I'd love to buy this little factory right next to my local Home Depot. I figure it would make an awesome store/workshop/museum.

It's currently broken up into four units all available to lease. I'll get in there one of these days and take more pictures.

Hmm. I just took a closer look at the porthole chassis and it's definitely bigger than 12"

In fact, I might just have unwittingly stumbled onto a good 16EP4 for my Monroe porthole set :banana:

I recognize the porthole chassis, as it is the same one mine uses. Although your crt looks bigger-on mine, the 16EP4 doesn't use nearly as much mounting hardware.

If you are not going to use the chassis, I sure could use the adjustable width coil. Mine was reduced to ashes.

The Zenith chassis is a G2437RZ. If I don't need that width coil for my porthole, it's all yours.

Here it is next to a 16GP4 CRT. Looks like it would be a challenge to make a 16GP4 work in one of these sets.

The other chassis I picked up is an RCA KCS47A. I should have recognized it sooner since I already have another one out in the garage. I'll be parting both out or maybe someone needs a whole chassis ?

The CRT showed zero emissions at first, but after 30 minutes at 7VAC is creeping towards the green :)

The Admiral is in very good all original condition. Almost all the tubes including the CRT are Admiral branded.

All the knobs are black bakelite. This is the first time I've come across black knobs - all the others have been brown.

I pulled out all the stops in trying to get my folks to take me, and failed.

If this is the only week that the sale will held, and someone could get the color table model Zenith and cart for me it would make me happy (probably won't happen though).

I at least hope it don't end up in the trash.

I actually bought the broken Admiral several years ago. It was damaged in shipping from Florida. The one I bought today is in good condition. Yes, you are correct that is a KCS47A chassis. I believe I have another as well that's in even better condition.

Is your Admiral cabinet a table top or console ? Either way, they are tricky to ship.

I'm not sure - what would I look for on the chassis ?

A socket on back that says remote. I think this set is too early for that.
I wouldn't be too quick to strip that chassis.

If you see a shaft sticking out of the back of the tuner drum, then you can hook up the remote. The Phonevision socket would be somewhere around the horizontal section, with a jumpered insert in it.

Hmm, I don't think it has either of those. Here are some pictures.
That flyback looks nasty.

As for parting it out goes, I'll just take whatever I need to get my set working. I may even use this chassis instead of the other if it's compatible and in better condition.

Sorry, I don't think I have any of those. None of my sets have the chassis panel either. I suppose some perforated sheet metal would make a good substitute :scratch2:

That looks exactly like the counter I remember seeing in a generator test bench I used to operate when I was stationed in Sicily, great find!

It sorta works. Occasionally some crazy numbers will popup then it goes back to the correct reading. It literally just counts up every time a pulse is applied to the input. There's a reset button that sets to back to all zeros.

I used to have a massive HP rack mount 8 digit nixie frequency and period counter that used all tubes. I think it could handle up to 100 kHz :)

Yes the AC power interlock on my set has a busted prong.
