I need this like I need a hole in the head

it was up a month or two ago for some crazy price like 350-400 IIRC, looks like they are getting more reasonable, I am thinking tops 25$ as a parts set since TV is unknown.

But I have no room for this space command hog.

A plus in its favor is it was a top of the line model. This one features the
stereo with the large separate power amp and the belt drive record changer.
You usuaaly see the lower models, these models with their top of the line
stereo chassis were very expensive.

Yea, I figured it had the good stereo, looks like a 23v set (never saw a 25v set with a cataract, maybe by then they had gone to banding). Maybe a Tube chassis. If it does not get grabbed up I may see if they will take a low number for it. I really dont want anohter combo, but I hate the idea of it going to a land fill.

I agree with the 23".
This cabinet is similar to mine and is solid cherry and cherry veneer on plywood. No fake wood, "photofinish" or plastic. Probably, 12" woofer, a midrange and an exponential horn. These really were a good sound system.

Dave, I thought you already had a Zenith console exactly like this one, down to the cabinet.

BTW, I agree with you as to these sets being space hogs -- all large consoles (even some TV-only ones) were like that. You need a good-sized living room, den or family room to accomodate these monsters; I don't think they would fit in an apartment, unless the place was huge (as in 1000 or more square feet). I live in a very small apartment and could not fit any kind of 3-way console in here (except perhaps a vertical Magnavox one), without getting rid of some furniture.

I have two zenith combos, both work great, both in the garage waiting for space in the house. this one is a bit different as I assume its remote controled and the tuner/amp are on separate chassis (mine have the singe chassis tuner/amp).

I just cant make a case for getting it right now, but I may try if it is still there in a couple of weeks. I like the doors on the front (both mine do not have them).

If I had a basement I would have it, and just stack it for now, better that than the land fill. I just got the sylvania out of the garage, so I can get both cars in easy again.
