The underside of that chassis looks like a nightmare of wires!

Looks like the one I bought and sold at a loss due to lack of transportation at the ETF this year, but that one was missing it's protelgram unit.

If this is like the Emerson 649 projection set, the chassis is directly
wired to the ac line. The chassis looks to be the same but don't
have the 609 schematic to be positive.

Both the Emerson projection chassis power supplies have a direct connection to the AC line.
If you have one of these sets, best to install a polarized AC plug so it's impossible to find 120 volts HOT on the chassis.

The optics look the same as the Scott projection tv.

Both Scott & Emerson, among several others, used the Norelco Protelgram system.
Various corrector lenses were used to adjust the focal length. I think there were 3
different corrector lenses and at least 2 different hv power supplies Norelco used.
