This one was my first roundie and almost my last. When The Stromberg Carlson TV-12 arrived it was in a crate that one would use on a world expedition.

Yes it did come with the guts, But the crt base was detached and some of the lead wires were broken off flush with the glass. Although the vacum was intact there was f#%k-all i could do. :tears: I did find a Dumont 12QP4 on ebay to replace the 12JP4.

No illusions as to what task lays ahead. Most of the caps did checked ok
but due to age and a lousy reliabiliy, they did have to go.

After changing a bunch of paper & eletrolytic capacitors and the crt this is what i got.:banana:
Needless to say time heals most wounds and i have a few more roundies in the collection. :yes:

Nice job, that is a lot of work to recap that chassis. Should be a reliable set, I have one that has been used several times a week after restoration and it so far has worked great with no failures.

Wow! Great work and a very nice picture! :yes: Looking at the those wax caps, I can just imagine the problems it would have had. :) The poor power supply would have had a hernia.

Strangely this has the looks of a Dumont.
Looks like the RA-103 chassis licensed from DuMont. One of my favorite TVs -- should be an excellent performer.

That is in fact the same chassis as a Dumont RA-103, or a Crosley 9-407M.
