Hi all,
Saw this curbside on the way to work and had to stop and check it out. I have never seen a Zenith that looked like this before. I think it's a digital System 3 but I did not look that closely at the badge. Pretty funky, eh? I especially like the detachable, swing-out speakers; they remind me of a 70s compact stereo phonograph or something like that.
It has an MTS decoder so it must be mid-80s. It also has the controls on a flip-up membrane panel in a slide-out drawer, with more controls underneath. I used to have a 27" Digital System 3 console with the same controls, it had a bad picture tube (big surprise) but the chassis still worked perfectly.
Anyone in Rochester who wants this thing, come get it before the scrappers find it, it's on Trabold Rd. in Gates...
Anybody else seen this style of Zenith console design before?
