I also watch this 3 times a day in the winter on my old roundies, I have to say he would have made a good president or his character certainly would have for sure.

the passing of an american icon.james arness was definative western hero.marshall matt dillon set the standard for our heroes.there was much to learn from this great show.the contrast of the characters,the excellent writing, and the overall people studies.i watch this whenever i can.arness is still the hero i look up to.no other could have played this role.now he belongs to the ages.rest in peace james arness.
